Subject: We will be discussing cooperation between the UE and the UN in the 3 main fields. It would be nice if your presentation will operate in following areas:
1) Cooperation in the field of Development

- Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS)

- The United Nations Development Action Framework (UNDAF)

- The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

- World Bank (WB)

- World Food Programme (WFP).

2) Cooperation in the field of peace-keeping and conflict prevention

- A common objective of the European Union and United Nations peacekeeping (consolidation strategy of conflict prevention, arms control)

- Promoting and enhancing the role of the regions in the maintenance of international peace and security

- Support for peacekeeping missions (the ones that take place on the basis of the mandate of the Security Council; being: effective collaboration, as well as the efficient exchange of information.

3) Cooperation in the field of trade

- A common goal in the area of trade

- Cooperation in the World Trade Organization (WTO)

- Integration of developing countries into the world trading system, offering tariff-free imports from least developed countries (UNCTAD)

Timetable: We would be very grateful if all participants could send us a short (1-2 pages A4 approx.) abstract of presentation till 12^th May. This would help us to prepare book of abstract, which will be useful during the presentations. Abstracts should be submitted as single MS Word DOC files as an e-mail attachment to the following e-mail address: ulatowska.agata@gmail.com

Presentations: The maximum time for oral session presentations is 15 min. There will be time for questions and discussion after the presentation.

Accommodation: We can help you in finding suitable place.

We would like to welcome you on Monday 20th May and spend nice afternoon together.
Then next day we will participate in conference.
